LYCOMING WOMEN’S SOCCER EXTENDS UNBEATEN STREAK TO SEVEN

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Lycoming College women’s soccer team hosted Keystone College, Wednesday afternoon, for a non-conference match. The Warriors were dominant from the start scoring five goals in the opening half and cruising to a 5-0 victory. The win pushes Lycoming’s record to 10-2-1 overall this season – reaching double digits in victories for just the second time in the program’s 11-year history. The shutout is the team’s fifth in a row and extends their opponents’ scoreless streak to 530 minutes.

Danielle Curry (Fr./West Chester, Pa.; East) led the offense with two goals and an assist in the contest. Beth Weixel (Sr./Mill Hall, Pa.; Central Mountain) added one goal and two assists, while Kaitlyn Prairie (Jr./Delran, N.J.; Delran) chipped in a goal and an assist. Angie Conklin (So./Shermansdale, Pa.; West Perry) claimed the game-winning goal, scoring just 82 seconds into the match. Stephanie Bomgardner (So./Dauphin, Pa.; Central Dauphin East) tallied one assist.

Jessica Bennett (Fr./Crofton, Md.; South River) made three saves in goal for the Warriors to record her fourth shutout of the season.

Lycoming will play their final home match of the regular season on Sunday, October 17, when they host FDU-Florham for a pivotal conference match. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
