WOMEN’S
SOCCER STREAK COMES TO AN END AGAINST AGGIES
WILLIAMSPORT,
PA – The Lycoming
College women’s soccer team had their four-game winning streak
come to an end, Sunday afternoon, against Freedom Conference
opponent Delaware Valley College. The Aggies tallied four goals,
while the Warriors were unable to find the back of the net.
Lycoming drops to 5-4 overall and 2-1 within the conference with
the loss. Delaware Valley improves to 2-5-1 and 1-2.
The
game winner came just five minutes into the game by sophomore
midfielder Katie Leach (Philadelphia, Pa./John W. Hallahan)
off an assist by junior Kate Decker (North Brunswick, NJ/North
Brunswick). The other three goals came off the foot of
sophomore Ana Mecaj (Philadelphia, Pa./Northeast). The
first in the 15th minute, the second off a corner kick
in the 24th minute, and the final goal in the second
half at the 61st minute.
The
Warriors will look to get back into the win column on Wednesday,
October 8, when they travel to Wilkes University.
