WOMEN’S SOCCER DEFEATED BY SCRANTON
WILLIAMSPORT,
Pa. – The Lycoming College women’s soccer team hosted the
University of Scranton, Tuesday afternoon, for a Freedom
Conference match. The Warriors failed to score, falling to the
undefeated Royals 4-0. Lycoming drops to 7-7-1overall and 2-4 in
the conference. Scranton improves to 17-0-1 and 6-0.
Sara
Suchoski (Jr./Wilkes-Barre, Pa.; Coughlin)
got the Royals their first goal just five minutes into the match.
The score came unassisted. Liz
O’Connor (Sr./Exton,
Pa.; Villa Maria Academy) added
two goals, one in the 30th minute assisted by Suchoski
and the second in the 61st minute off an assist from Alicia
Sodono (Jr./Moscow, Pa.; North Pocono). The Royals
other goal was scored by Jessica
Beha (Fr./Belvidere, N.J..; Belvidere) in
the 40th minute. Angie
Bartizal (Fr./Somerset, N.J.; Bishop George Ahr) tallied an
assist on the play.
Beth
Weixel (Jr./Mill Hall, Pa.; Central Mountain)
made fourteen saves in goal for the Warriors. Kim McCormick
(Jr./Frazer, Pa.; Great Valley) recorded the shutout for
Scranton without making a save.
Lycoming
will play again on Saturday, November 1, when they host Drew
University. Kickoff is at 2:30 p.m.
