WOMEN’S SOCCER WINS THIRD STRAIGHT
LANGHORNE,
PA – The Lycoming College women’s soccer team won their third
consecutive match, Saturday afternoon, defeating Philadelphia
Biblical University, 5-0. The Warriors are now 4-3 overall this
season.
Jennifer
Mercer (So./Dushore, Pa.; Sullivan County)
got Lycoming on the board 23 minutes into the contest off an
assist by Laura Dillon (Jr./Bayside, N.Y.; St. Mary’s). Katie
Swanson (Fr./Eldred, Pa.; Portville Central) made the score
2-0 just three minutes later, scoring off a pass from Mercer.
In
the second half, the Warriors added goals by Heather Edelstein
(So./Pottsgrove, Pa; Milton), Heather Weller
(Fr./Mifflinburg, Pa.; Mifflinburg), and Jody Weir
(So./Sunbury, Pa.; Shikellamy). Kaitlyn Prairie
(So./Delran, N.J., Delran) assisted on Weller’s goal and
Mercer tallied her second assist of the game on Edelstein’s
goal.
Beth
Weixel (Jr./Mill Hall, Pa.; Central Mountain)
made four saves in goal for Lycoming.
The
Warriors play again on Wednesday, October 1, when they travel to
King’s College for a conference match.
