LYCOMING WOMEN’S SOCCER PLAYS BAPTIST BIBLE TO TIE

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Lycoming College women’s soccer team took a break from conference competition, Thursday afternoon, to host Baptist Bible College. The Warriors and Defenders played for 110 minutes but could not determine a winner as the match ended in a 1-1 tie. Lycoming moves to 6-6-1 overall, while Baptist Bible is now 11-6-1.

Jennifer Mercer (So./Dushore, Pa.; Sullivan County) scored the first goal of the contest in the 57^th minute, giving the Warriors a 1-0 advantage. That lead held up until the 87^th minute when Mandy Hager scored off a rebound of a direct kick from 20 yards out.

Beth Weixel (Jr./Mill Hall, Pa.; Central Mountain) played a solid game in goal for Lycoming, making 11 saves. Deanna Parker made three saves in goal for the Defenders.

The Warriors will travel to SUNY-Purchase on Sunday, October 26, for their next match.
