WARRIOR WOMEN’S SOCCER DROPS CONFERENCE MATCH AT DELAWARE VALLEY

DOYLESTOWN, PA – The Lycoming College women’s soccer team traveled to Delaware Valley College, Saturday afternoon, for a Freedom Conference showdown. The Warriors carried a 2-1 lead late into the game, but gave up two goals in the final five minutes to fall 3-2.

Melissa Wert (Sr./Mifflinburg, PA; Mifflinburg) opened the scoring in the game with a goal early in the second period. After the Aggies tied the game at 1-1, Laura Dillon (So./Bayside, NY; Saint Mary’s) tallied her first goal of the season to give Lycoming a 2-1 lead.

Delaware Valley, however, got goals from Tara Corkery and Kate Glaab in the closing minutes of the game to steal the 3-2 victory.

Angie Brewington (Sr./Benton, PA; Benton) made four saves in goal for the Warriors. Lindsay Eversole was in goal fro the Aggies, making five saves in the game.

Lycoming will host King’s College for their next match on Sunday, October 13.
