Warriors Win All Four at MAC Duals
Crebs Picks Up 250th Victory in Win Over Messiah

Scranton, Pa. --- Warrior head wrestling coach Roger Crebs earned his 250th career victory in the second match of Lycoming's three-match triumphs at the 2006 MAC North/South Duals.  Lycoming bested King's College 37-7 in its first match in the morning session, then moved on to defeat Messiah College 32-9 and Wilkes University 25-14 in the afternoon contests.  The Warriors picked up a team victory by forfeit at the hands of Albright College.

Lycoming improves to 14-5-1 overall, 5-0 in the make in dual meets.  The victory over Wilkes also serves as a make-up to the cancellation earlier this season.

It has taken Coach Crebs just under 13 seasons to reach the 250-win plateau, a feat of winning consistency that is hard to match across the country.  During his 12-year tenure, the Warriors have posted six 20-win seasons including an undefeated 22-0 mark in the 1996-97 campaign.  Overall, Lycoming has won five MAC titles and three East Regional crowns with Crebs as head mentor.  His overall record now stands at 252-48-2 for an impressive .838 winning percentage.

Senior Tommy Snyder (New Columbia, Pa./Milton) moved to 20-1 on the season with a trio pins through the three matches.  Sophomore Matt Miller (Muncy, Pa./Montgomery) joined Snyder with a fall victory against King's.  Miller pinned Zach Wilkinson at 184 pounds in the third period at the 6:38 mark while Snyder took care of Jim Bishop at heavyweight one frame sooner with 4:12 off the clock.

Three other Warriors picked up bonus points against the Monarch's with sophomore Drew Barder (Millersburg, Pa./Upper Dauphin) picking up a technical fall victory at 149 pounds and junior Kyle Hopkins (Milton, Del./Cape Henlopen) at 141 pounds and senior Heath Oberlin (Mifflinburg, Pa./Mifflinburg) at 174 pounds winning by major decions.

Freshman James Saxton (Cinnaminson, N.J./Cinnaminson) made some noise for the Warriors at 125 pounds with a pin of Messiah's Josh Cragg in the first round at the 2:02 mark.  Snyder added a bookend to the match by pinning Ethan Bucarey (no time reported).  Junior Sean Cullen (Cinnaminson, N.J./Cinnaminson) at 133 pounds and senior Jason Smith (Hughesville, Pa./Hughesville) at 157 pounds earned bonus points with a major decision apiece.

Wilkes jumped on the board first in the final match of the afternoon with a pin at 125 pounds by Felipe Queiroz, but Cullen did his best to make amends with his second major decision victory of the day.  The Warriors picked up five more victories by decision before Snyder capped the day with his third pin, this one of Keith Altiery at the 1:40 mark of the first round.

Lycoming is next in action on Wednesday, February 1, as the Warriors travel to Delaware Valley College for a showdown between the MAC's two strongest programs.  Match time is set for 7:00 p.m. in Doylestown.
