WILLIAMSPORT,
Pa.—133-pound Lycoming
College wrestler Sean
Cullen (Cinnaminson, NJ)
is no stranger to the NCAA
Division III Championships.
This year’s tournament
represents the third
consecutive year that the
wiry senior has made the
trip
In 2005 and 2006, Cullen
qualified as a wild card
selection. He placed sixth
at the 2005 national
tournament, earning
All-America status. This
season he obliterated his
competition at the Midwest
regionals in Manchester,
Indiana. His first place
finish guaranteed him a spot
at next weekend’s nationals
at Loras College in Dubuque,
Iowa and another chance to
be an All-American.
At 31-4, Cullen has
dominated most of his
opponents in his final year
at Lycoming. However, two of
his 2007 losses came at the
hands of Ray Sarinelli
of The College of New Jersey
and Dave Morgan of
King’s, both of whom Cullen
will face in Iowa. Also
claiming repeat spots are
Adam Johnson of North
Central College and
Justin Hulegaard of
Buena Vista University.
Cullen fell to Hulegaard at
the 2005 tournament and lost
to Johnson in 2006.
This could be the year that
Cullen takes revenge on
those wrestlers, all of whom
are ranked in the top eight
in the country. Head coach
Roger Crebs and his
sole national qualifier
leave for the plains four
days before the tournament.
They will work out at Loras
and get ready for one more
go at a top national ranking
and All-American honors.

quest to be the best.
