Lycoming Takes Tenth at Messiah Invitational

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa.—The Warriors placed tenth in the team standings at Messiah’s Petrofes Invitational this weekend. John Estable (Mount Joy, PA) was Lycoming’s top individual wrestler, taking second at 133 pounds.

Estable, a freshman, took over for veteran Sean Cullen (Cinnaminson, NJ) who placed second at 133 in the Warriors’ previous contest (Ursinus’ Fall Brawl). Estable mowed down his competition, losing only to Muhlenberg’s Billy Hall in the championship match.

Lycoming’s Matt Miller (Muncy, PA) took fourth at 197 pounds, while 149-pounder Drew Barder (Millersburg, PA) placed sixth for the two-day tournament. The only other Warrior to place in the top eight was Joe Palmitessa (Scranton, PA) at 125 pounds.

Head coach Roger Crebs entered four different 285-pound wrestlers in the championship bracket, but none emerged as a force to be reckoned with.

Lycoming’s next match is a home dual versus Ithaca this Friday night at 7:00 p.m. at Lamade Gymnasium.
