WRESTLING GOES 3-2 AT OLIVET DUALS
OLIVET, Mich. –
The Lycoming College wrestling team traveled to Olivet College to
compete in five dual matches, Saturday. The Warriors went 3-2,
defeating Baldwin Wallace College 37-8, Wisconsin-Stevens Point
21-13, and Wabash College 19-15. Lycoming fell to host Olivet 13-21
and Wartburg College 6-40. The Warriors are 3-3 in dual matches this
season.
Against Olivet,
Lycoming won four bouts. Sean Cullen (So./Cinnaminson, N.J.;
Cinnaminson) recorded a 3-0 decision at 133 pounds. Sean
Reese (Sr./Milton, Pa.; Milton) tallied a 10-0 major decision at
149 pounds. Kevin Colton Craig (Sr./Flanders, N.J. West Morris
Mendham) added a 5-2 decision at 197 pounds; and Tommy Snyder
(Jr./New Columbia, Pa.; Milton) won a 6-0 decision at
heavyweight.
The Warriors won
eight bouts in their victory over Baldwin Wallace. John Rhodeback
(Jr./Lewisburg, Pa.; Lewisburg) got things started with a
second-period pin at 125. Drew Barder (Fr./Millersburg, Pa.;
Upper Dauphin) followed with a 12-0 major decision at 133.
John Ambs (Sr./Mt. Joy, Pa.; Donegal) and Reese added identical
6-3 decisions at 141 and 149 pounds, respectively. Mike Parisi
(Fr./Easton, Pa.; Easton) and Scott Hays (So./Yeagertown,
Pa.; Indian Valley) followed with two more pins. Parisi in the
third period at 157 pounds, and Hays in the first period at 165
pounds. At 174 pounds, Matt Miller (Fr./Muncy, Pa.; Montgomery)
recorded a 10-5 decision. Finally at 184 pounds, Hank Reedy
(Fr./Sinking Spring, Pa.; Wilson) pinned his opponent in 1:16.
In their win
over Stevens Point, Lycoming claimed victories in six bouts. Cullen
won by 5-2 decision at 133 and Reese won by 5-0 decision at 149
pounds. Jon Carlson (Sr./Emporium, Pa.; Cameron County) put
the Warriors back in front with a 6-5 decision ay 157 pounds. At 165
pounds, Hays recorded his second win-by-fall of the day in the
second period. Colton Craig and Snyder wrapped things up at 197
pounds and heavyweight with a pair of decisions.
Lycoming won
five bouts versus Wabash, coming up with four bonus points to claim
the team victory. Ambs and Reese got the Warriors on the board with
3-1 and 6-1 decisions at 141 and 149 pounds, respectively. Hays
evened things back up at 165 pounds with a 12-5 decision. Colton
Craig and Snyder again came up big for Lycoming in the final two
bouts. Colton Craig pinned his opponent at 197 in the second period
to knot the match at 15-15. Snyder then tallied a 12-2 major
decision at heavyweight to give the Warriors the win.
In their final
match of the day, Lycoming won just one bout. Troy Hansen
(Fr./Westtown, N.Y.; Minisink Valley) recorded a pin in the
third period at 184 pounds. |
