WARRIOR WRESTLING: WALDRON PLACES FIFTH AT NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

ADA, Ohio – Lycoming College sophomore Mike Waldron (Williamsport, PA; Loyalsock) earned All-America honors for the second consecutive year by placing fifth at the NCAA Division III Championships, Saturday afternoon.

Waldron had advanced to the semifinals of the championship bracket on Friday by winning three matches. His streak came to an end on Saturday, however, as he fell in the semifinals to Dave Illaria from the College of New Jersey by a score of 2-1. The loss dropped Waldron into the semifinals of the consolation bracket where he lost a 12-8 decision to Mark Matzek of Augsburg College. Waldron rebounded, however, in the fifth-place match to defeat Brady Holtz of Wisconsin-Stevens Point by a score of 10-3.
