LYCOMING GRAPPLERS WIN FOUR-OF-FIVE AT OLIVET DUALS

OLIVET, Mich. – The Lycoming College wrestling team competed in the Olivet Comet Duals on Saturday. The Warriors won four-of-five matches on the day, defeating Wabash (30-12), Rose-Hulman (34-12), Wisconsin-Platteville (25-12), and Olivet (24-9). Lycoming’s only loss was to Wartburg (46-0). This was the Warriors’ first taste of dual-match competition this season, so their record stands at 4-1.

Jeremy Adams (Jr./Clearfield, Pa.; Clearfield), Jason Smith (Fr./Hughesville, Pa.; Hughesville), and Grant Brindle (Jr./Pine Grove, Pa.; Pine Grove) each recorded four victories to lead Lycoming. Adams was 4-1 at 149 pounds with a pin and two major decisions. Smith was 4-1 at 157 pounds with two pins. Brindle was 4-0 at 184 pounds with a pin and two major decisions.

Sean Cullen (Fr./Cinnaminson, N.J.; Cinnaminson), John Battaglia (Sr./Beaver Falls, Pa.; Blackhawk), and Clint Swartz (Sr./Milton, Pa.; Warrior Run) each added three victories. Cullen was 3-0 at 125 pounds with two major decisions. Battaglia was 3-1 at 197 pounds with one major. Swartz was 3-2 at 165 pounds with a pin.
