WARRIOR WOMEN’S LACROSSE TRIPPED UP BY SUSQUEHANNA

SELINSGROVE, Pa. – The Lycoming College women’s lacrosse team traveled to Susquehanna University, Thursday afternoon, for a Middle Atlantic Conference game. The Warriors struggled offensively against the Crusaders, falling 13-4. The loss dropped Lycoming to 6-4 overall and 1-3 within the conference. Susquehanna improved to 6-3 and 4-1.

The Crusaders took control of the game early, scoring the first four goals of the contest. The Warriors got on the board with just over 10 minutes to play in the opening half when Colleen Kenyon (Jr./Milmont Park; Ridley Senior) scored an unassisted goal. Kenyon added another goal before the half off an assist by Lauren Evangelist (Fr./Perkiomen; Boyertown), but Lycoming entered the intermission trailing 6-2.

Susquehanna’s offense continued to roll in the second half adding seven goals to their total. The Warriors tallied two more goals in the second period as Kenyon picked up her third goal and senior Hillary Barrett (Collegeville; Perkiomen Valley) scored her first of the game. In goal, Jessica Miller (Sr./Emmaus; Emmaus) made 13 saves for Lycoming.

For the Crusaders, Kat Geiger was the top scorer with four goals, and Giulia Umile made 15 saves in net.

The Warriors will return to action this weekend when they travel to Hood College for a two-day tournament.
