DOMINATES HOOD;
RUNS STREAK TO THREE
WILLIAMSPORT, Pa.
– Nine different Warriors scored as the Lycoming College
women’s lacrosse team shut out Hood College, 20-0 in their home
opener. The non-conference victory is the Warrior’s third win in
a row and improves their overall record to 3-1.
Lycoming jumped
out to an early lead, scoring five goals in the first five minutes
of the game. The Warriors extended their advantage to 13-0 by the
end of the opening half. Lycoming added seven goals in the second
half to close out the game at 20-0.
The Warrior
defense held the Blazers without a shot in the game.
Lauren
Evangelist (Fr./Perkiomen; Boyertown)
led Lycoming’s offense with four goals and three assists. Senior
Brenda MacPhail (Newtown Square; Marple Newtown) added four
goals and two assists. Hillary Barrett (Sr./Collegeville;
Perkiomen Valley) and Darlene Moyer (Sr./York; Central
York) each scored three goals, as well.
“We’re glad
to get the win and keep our momentum going,” said Lycoming head
coach Katherine Roberts. “It was good to get some of our younger
players in to get some experience early in the season.”
The Warriors are
home again on Sunday, March 25 when they host St. John Fisher at 2
p.m.
