Women's Lacrosse Announces 2006 Team Awards

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. --- Following the Lady Warriors most successful season in its 10-year history, the Lycoming women's lacrosse team voted on six awards to recognize some of the top performers.  Those half-dozen honorees are pictured below.

2006 Most Valuable Player 2006 Most Improved Player Sarah Wingerden Morgan Reale   2006 Best Offensive Player 2006 Best Defensive Player Megan Wallenhorst Cailin Harvey   2006 Sportsmanship Award 2006 Coaches Awards Nancy Villante Laura Seifert

Several Lady Warriors picked up awards outside of the program as well.  Those accolades are listed below.

First Team All-Middle Atlantic Conference
Megan Wallenhorst: Sophomore - Attacker - 70 goals, 4 assists, 74 total points
Sarah Wingerden: Freshman - Midfielder - 59 goals, 15 assists, 74 total points

Second Team All-Middle Atlantic Conference
Kristina Peacock: Sophomore - Goalkeeper - 14-4 record, 202 saves, 8.98 GAA
Lauren Raby: Sophomore - Defender - 1 goal, 2 assists, 48 groundballs, 25 caused turnovers

Middle Atlantic Conference Rookie of the Year
Sarah Wingerden: 68 groundballs, 33 caused turnovers, 3 game-winning goals

Middle Atlantic Conference Coach of the Year
Kara Reber: 3 seasons, 24-22 overall record, 14-4 in 2006
