SELINSGROVE,
Pa. --- Lycoming women’s lacrosse continues to roll through its

first victory in the program’s history over Susquehanna
University in an 11-9 triumph on Wednesday night. The Lady Warriors improve to 8-1 overall, 5-0 in conference
play. The Crusaders
fall to 4-5, 3-2.
Freshmen
Sarah Wingerden (Macedon, N.Y./Palmyra-Macedon) and Kelly

for Lycoming. Wingerden,
the reigning www.womenslacrosse.com
Rookie of the Week, assaulted the Crusaders for four goals and an
assist for her third straight game with at least four points.
Mack dropped in four goals as well including the first two
of the contest.
After
Mack’s first two tallies, Wingerden and sophomore Megan Wallenhorst (Rochester, N.Y./Irondequoit)
combined for two more to give the Lady Warriors an early 4-0 edge

notched a pair to cut the lead in half, and then traded tallies
with Lycoming for the remainder of the period.
The blue and gold led 7-5 going into the intermission.
Both teams traded a score at the opening of the second frame
to maintain the two-goal difference, but Susquehanna tied the
score 8-8 with two straight goals by the 17:45 mark.
Lycoming stormed back behind a goal from Mack and two from
Wingerden to move ahead 11-8 with 5:01 to play.
The Crusaders could manage only one more score, preserving
the Lady Warriors’ victory.
Aside from Wingerden and Mack’s four tallies, Wallenhorst
notched a pair to give her a team-best 41 goals and tying her
total from last season. Freshman
Kelli Morsey (Baltimore, Md./Perry Hall) added her fifth
goal of the year, and sophomore Heather Suit (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck)
picked up her 22nd assist of the campaign.
Second-year keeper Kristina Peacock (Webster,
N.Y./Webster-Thomas) stopped 13 shots in the effort.
