WILKES-BARRE, Pa.—Lycoming’s women’s lacrosse team (13-2, 8-2)
defeated Wilkes (0-15, 0-10) on Saturday afternoon by a score of
18-6. On Tuesday, May 1 the Lady Warriors will host a first
round playoff game at Shangraw Athletic Complex.
Junior
Megan Wallenhorst (Rochester, NY) was up to her old
tricks to start Saturday’s game. Wallenhorst landed three goals
in the game’s first seven minutes. Two were assisted by junior
Heather Suit (Annapolis, MD) and one by freshman Megan
McIntyre (Baltimore, MD).
Lycoming
never looked back and led 9-3 at halftime. The teams matched
that score in the second half and Lycoming went home with a
12-point victory.
Ten
different Lady Warriors scored before the final horn sounded.
Wallenhorst netted two more goals in the second half to lead
Lycoming with five. Freshman Michelle Murray (Media, PA)
scored her first three goals of the season, with two coming in
the second half. Freshman Jackie Calbi (Annandale, VA)

goals on the day. Calbi also notched two assists for the game,
as did freshman Ashley Collins (Westminster, MD).

games ago.
