Lady Warriors Beat Catholic in Disney
All But Three Lycoming Shots Find the Net

ORLANDO, Fla.—Lycoming’s women’s lacrosse team is spending its spring break in Florida, training, sightseeing and playing two regular season games. In their first match-up the Lady Warriors defeated Catholic University 13-8 on Monday.

Head coach Kara Reber’s squad showcased its pinpoint shooting, connecting on 13 of 16 shots. Every attempt  by Lycoming was a shot on goal. Sophomore midfielder Sarah Wingerden (Macedon, NY) led all scorers with four goals.

“Sarah had an exceptional game,” said Reber, “She played out of her mind today.”

Reber also applauded a great game by freshman attack Megan McIntyre (Baltimore, MD), who opened her Lady Warrior career with two goals and two assists. Junior Megan Wallenhorst (Rochester, NY) and sophomore Kelli Morsey (Baltimore, MD) each had a pair of goals, with Wallenhorst adding an assist. Meanwhile, junior attack Heather Suit (Annapolis, MD) recorded a goal and two assists.

Junior goalkeeper Kristina Peacock (Webster, NY) secured 10 saves on the afternoon.

Lycoming led at halftime by a score of 8-4, then held its lead throughout the second half. The Lady Warriors next contest is on Friday, March 2 when they take on SUNY-Oneonta.
