Warriors Beat Catholic in Disney
All But Three
Lycoming Shots Find the Net
ORLANDO,
Fla.—Lycoming’s women’s lacrosse team is spending its spring
break in Florida, training, sightseeing and playing two regular
season games. In their first match-up the Lady Warriors defeated
Catholic University 13-8 on Monday.
Head coach
Kara Reber’s squad showcased its pinpoint shooting,
connecting on 13 of 16 shots. Every attempt by Lycoming was a
shot on goal. Sophomore midfielder Sarah Wingerden (Macedon,
NY) led all scorers with four goals.
“Sarah had
an exceptional game,” said Reber, “She played out of her mind
today.”
Reber also
applauded a great game by freshman attack Megan McIntyre
(Baltimore, MD), who opened her Lady Warrior career
with two goals and two assists. Junior Megan Wallenhorst
(Rochester, NY) and sophomore Kelli Morsey (Baltimore,
MD) each had a pair of goals, with Wallenhorst adding an
assist. Meanwhile, junior attack Heather Suit (Annapolis, MD)
recorded a goal and two assists.
Junior
goalkeeper Kristina Peacock (Webster, NY) secured 10
saves on the afternoon.
Lycoming led
at halftime by a score of 8-4, then held its lead throughout the
second half. The Lady Warriors next contest is on Friday, March
2 when they take on SUNY-Oneonta.
