Four Lady Warriors Named All-Region
IWLCA Announces DIII All-Regional Team

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa.—Accolades continue to roll in for Lycoming’s women’s lacrosse team. Four Lady Warriors were awarded All-Regional honors by the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Association.

Sophomore midfielder Sarah Wingerden (Macedon, NY) and junior attacker Megan Wallenhorst (Rochester, NY) earned two of the 16 first-team spots. They had previously garnered first and second team All-MAC recognition respectively.

Wingerden, who shared Lycoming MVP honors with goalie Kristina Peacock (Webster, NY), recorded 43 goals and 13 assists in 2007. She also led the team with 23 caused turnovers. In the first-round of the MAC Playoffs, Wingerden tied Lycoming records with nine goals and twelve points. Among her nine goals was the 100th of her collegiate career.

Wallenhorst, who earned Lycoming’s Best Offensive Player Award, scored 66 goals and dished 14 assists in 2007. She was twice named MAC Player of the Week. In the first-round MAC Playoff game, Wallenhorst broke the all-time Lycoming record for career goals with her 171st. She scored six times in the game, then scored six more goals in the second-round contest.

Senior defender Erin Dillon (Bayside, NY) and sophomore defender Morgan Reale (Phelps, NY) both made second team IWLCA All-Regional. Dillon also gained first team All-MAC this season.

Dillon was named Best Defensive Player for the Lady Warriors in 2007. For Reale, this was the first postseason recognition for an outstanding sophomore season.
