2007 Women's Lacrosse

Lady Warriors Defeat Susquehanna
Wallenhorst and McIntyre Each Score Four Goals

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa.—Lycoming’s women’s lacrosse team (12-1, 7-1) defeated conference opponent Susquehanna (4-6, 3-5) on Wednesday by a score of 13-7. Junior Megan Wallenhorst (Rochester, NY) and freshman Megan McIntyre (Baltimore, MD) scored four goals apiece to pace the Lady Warriors.

Lycoming scored the game’s first three goals, including two by Wallenhorst, who would notch three goals in the first half. Sophomores Sarah Wingerden (Macedon, NY) and Kelly Mack (New Egypt, NJ) also found the net in the opening half. But Susquehanna did not give in easily and at the break the Lady Warrior lead was just 6-3.

Susquehanna’s Rachel Devilbiss and Dana Mulvihill scored around another Wallenhorst goal to open the second frame. Meanwhile, Lady Crusader Mary Minuni scored two of her three goals in the second period. But ultimately, Lycoming’s firepower proved too much for Susquehanna. McIntyre scored three of her four goals in the second half, while Wingerden added another and Mack scored two more times in the game’s final five minutes to secure the win.

Lady Warrior Heather Suit (Annapolis, MD) had three assists on the day to lead both teams, while goalie Kristina Peacock (Webster, NY) made many impressive stops on her way to 16 saves and her twelfth win of the season.

Lycoming will secure second place in the MAC, and a first round playoff bye, by winning its final two games. On April 21, the Lady Warriors travel to Drew to face the MAC’s other one-loss team. Then, on April 28th, Lycoming takes on Wilkes away to finish the regular season.
