Lady
Warriors Earn Athlete of the Week Honors
Wallenhorst and
Peacock Lead Lycoming Lacrosse
WILLIAMSPORT, Pa.—Two Lycoming athletes earned conference honors
this week. Women’s lacrosse players Megan Wallenhorst
(Rochester, NY) and Kristina Peacock (Webster, NY)
were recognized as Middle Atlantic Conference Player of the Week
and Defender of the Week respectively. The Lady Warrior lacrosse
team is a perfect 4-0 thus far this season.
Wallenhorst
netted 8 goals over two games, including a five goal performance
vs. Rochester on Sunday. In that game, she
scored the first
three goals of the second half to obliterate a 6-6
halftime tie.
She had three assists to match her three goals against York on
Thursday. Megan also scooped a ground ball and caused a turnover
in each game. She leads Lycoming with 14 goals on the season.
Peacock
logged 112:28 minutes in just four days, claiming victory over York
17-11 and Rochester 11-8. Against York, Kristina saved 11 shots
on goal. Versus Rochester, she had seven saves and eight ground
balls and, most importantly, only allowed two goals in the
second half. With the score tied 6-6 at halftime, Peacock’s
stingy netminding secured her fourth win of the season.
The Lady
Warriors host a strong Messiah team on Wednesday, March 14 in
their first conference match-up. The game begins at 4:00 pm at
Shangraw Athletic Complex. |
