Warriors Defeat York in Lacrosse
McIntyre
Scores Four Goals in First Half
WILLIAMSPORT,
Pa.—The Lycoming women’s lacrosse team defeated York on Thursday
by a score of 17-11. Freshman Lady Warrior Megan McIntyre
(Baltimore, PA) scored four goals on the afternoon, all in
the first half.
McIntyre
shared the team lead in goals with sophomore midfielder Sarah
Wingerden (Macedon, NY), who notched three of her four goals
in the first half. Junior attack
Megan Wallenhorst (Rochester, NY) netted three shots
while assisting three more scores, while freshman midfielder Justine Titko
(Wrightstown, NJ) scored twice.
Junior
attack Heather Suit (Annapolis, MD) dished three
assists on the afternoon and scored a goal, while junior goalie Kristina
Peacock (Webster, NY) had 11 saves and three ground balls in
securing the win for Lycoming.
Freshmen Christi Karr (Lansdale, PA) and Amanda Baker
(Media, PA) and sophomore Kelly Mack (New Egypt, NJ)
each scored a goal.
The Lady
Warriors went up early, scoring the contest’s first three goals.
They then tallied four unanswered scores to close the period and
went into the break leading 11-4. York made a valiant comeback
try with seven scores in the second half, but couldn’t bring
down the talented Lady Warriors.
Lycoming
takes on Rochester this Sunday, March 11 at Shangraw Athletic
Complex. The game begins at 1:00 p.m. The Lady Warriors then
host powerful Messiah on Wednesday, March 14.
