Lycoming
Moves Up to #17 in the Nation
Cody Honorable
Mention Player of the Week
WILLIAMSPORT,
Pa.—After a decisive 14-7 victory over #18 Montclair State on
Thursday, Lycoming’s women’s Lacrosse team has risen to 17th
in the IWLCA coaches poll Top-20 rankings. The Lady Warriors are
a perfect 10-0 on the season and have beaten a #13 Messiah team
earlier in the season, as well as Catholic University, which
received Top-20 votes the past few weeks. Lycoming was ranked
#20 going into its showdown with Montclair State.
Sophomore
midfielder Crystal Cody (Rochester, NY) earned honorable
mention as womenslacrosse.com Player of the Week for her
performance last week. Cody ripped three goals in the first six
minutes of the Lady Warriors win over Montclair State.
Unfortunately, she had to leave the game with an injury shortly
thereafter.
Lycoming
does not want for standouts though. Juniors Megan Wallenhorst
(Rochester, NY) and Kristina Peacock (Webster, NY)
continue to lead the team with staunch play. In two games last
week, Wallenhorst scored 12 goals, while Peacock had 24 saves.
Junior Heather Suit (Annapolis MD) also deserves
recognition as Lycoming’s new all-time assist leader. With seven
dimes last week, Suit easily stepped into first place on the
all-time list.
The Lady
Warriors have to wait until April 10 before facing off at
Elizabethtown. The remainder of Lycoming’s schedule will be MAC
competition. |
