Warriors Make All-Conference
Wingerden and Dillon
Earn First Team
WILLIAMSPORT,
Pa.—Four Lycoming College women’s lacrosse players made the 2007
Middle Atlantic Conference All-Conference team.
Sophomore
Sarah Wingerden (Macedon, NY/Macedon) earned first team
All-MAC as a midfielder. Wingerden had 43 goals and 13 assists
in 2007. She also led the team with 23 caused turnovers. In the first-round
MAC Playoff game,
Wingerden tied Lycoming records with nine goals and twelve
points. Among her nine goals was the 100th of her
career.
Joining
Wingerden on the first team was senior defender Erin Dillon
(Bayside, NY/St. Francis Prep). Dillon scooped up 43 ground
balls and caused 20 turnovers this year. Dillon’s defensive presence helped
the Lady Warriors to a 14-4 overall record.
Lycoming
claimed two of three second team All-MAC attack positions.
Junior Megan Wallenhorst (Rochester, NY/Irondequoit) and
freshman Megan McIntyre (Baltimore, MD/Mercy) ranked first
and second respectively in goals and points for the Lady Warriors this
season.
Wallenhorst scored 66 goals and dished 14 assists in 2007. She
was twice
named MAC Player of the Week. In the first-round MAC Playoff game,
Wallenhorst broke the all-time Lycoming record for career goals
with her 171st. She scored six times in the game,
then scored six more times in the second-round game.
McIntyre recorded
50 goals and 24 assists in her spectacular freshman
season. In March, she was named Rookie of the Week by womenslacrosse.com for her impressive effort versus then
nationally-ranked Messiah.
