2007 Women's Lacrosse

Four Lady Warriors Make All-Conference
Wingerden and Dillon Earn First Team

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa.—Four Lycoming College women’s lacrosse players made the 2007 Middle Atlantic Conference All-Conference team.

Sophomore Sarah Wingerden (Macedon, NY/Macedon) earned first team All-MAC as a midfielder. Wingerden had 43 goals and 13 assists in 2007. She also led the team with 23 caused turnovers. In the first-round MAC Playoff game, Wingerden tied Lycoming records with nine goals and twelve points. Among her nine goals was the 100th of her career.

Joining Wingerden on the first team was senior defender Erin Dillon (Bayside, NY/St. Francis Prep). Dillon scooped up 43 ground balls and caused 20 turnovers this year. Dillon’s defensive presence helped the Lady Warriors to a 14-4 overall record.

Lycoming claimed two of three second team All-MAC attack positions. Junior Megan Wallenhorst (Rochester, NY/Irondequoit) and freshman Megan McIntyre (Baltimore, MD/Mercy) ranked first and second respectively in goals and points for the Lady Warriors this season.

Wallenhorst scored 66 goals and dished 14 assists in 2007. She was twice named MAC Player of the Week. In the first-round MAC Playoff game, Wallenhorst broke the all-time Lycoming record for career goals with her 171st. She scored six times in the game, then scored six more times in the second-round game.

McIntyre recorded 50 goals and 24 assists in her spectacular freshman season. In March, she was named Rookie of the Week by womenslacrosse.com for her impressive effort versus then nationally-ranked Messiah.
