WOMEN’S LACROSSE COMES FROM BEHIND TO DEFEAT GWYNEDD MERCY
WELLINGTON,
Fla. – The Lycoming College women’s lacrosse team picked up
their first win of the season, Friday evening, versus Gwynedd
Mercy College. The Warriors overcame a 5-3 deficit at halftime
to defeat the Griffins 9-8. Lycoming is now 1-1 on the season.
Gwynedd Mercy falls to 1-1, as well.
Erica Likens
(Sr./Bel Air, Md.; Bel Air)
led the Warriors with four goals and three assists in the
contest. Megan Wallenhorst (Fr./Rochester, N.Y.; Irondequoit)
added three goals and one assist. Heather Suit
(Fr./Annapolis, Md.; Broadneck) accounted for two goals and
Laura Seifert (Jr./Jarrettsville, Md.; Notre Dame Prep)
recorded one assist.
Ashley Meyer
(Fr./Pittsford, N.Y.; Pittsford Sutherland)
was in goal for Lycoming. She made 22 saves and picked up a pair
of groundballs.
The Warriors
will not play again until Wednesday, March 16, when they travel
to the University of Scranton for their first conference
match-up of the season.
