WOMEN’S LACROSSE DEFEATS WILMINGTON

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Lycoming College women’s lacrosse team
hosted the Wilmington Wildcats, Wednesday afternoon. The
Wildcats fell behind and never recovered, losing to the Warriors
11-7. Lycoming is now 2-2 overall this season, while Wilmington
falls to 2-1.
Erika Likens
(Sr./Bel Air, Md; Bel Air)
led the
Warriors with six goals and one assist. Megan Wallenhorst
(Fr./Rochester, N.Y.; Irondequoit) added two goals and one
assist, while Erin Robinson (Jr./West Hartford, Conn.;
Kingswood-Oxford) also scored two goals. Lauren Raby
(Fr./Walnutport, Pa.; Northern Leigh) tallied the
game-winning score. Kristen Dart (Sr./Saratoga, N.Y.;
Saratoga Springs), Erin Dillon (So./Bayside, N.Y.; Saint
Francis Prep), and Heather Suit (Fr./Annapolis, Md.;
Broadneck) all added one assist each.
Ashley Meyer
(Fr./Pittsford, N.Y.; Pittsford Sutherland)
and Kristina Peacock (Fr./Webster, N.Y.; Webster-Thomas)
each played a half in goal for Lycoming. Meyer made two saves
and gave up three goals. Peacock finished the game, with six
saves and four goals against.
The Wildcats
were led by sophomore Colby Bugda who contributed five goals.
Amy Waggoner added two goals and one assist. Christina Knight
had one assist.
The Warriors
will host Moravian College for their next game on Saturday,
April 2. The contest will begin at 1 p.m. |
