LYCOMING WOMEN’S LACROSSE DEFEATED BY ELIZABETHTOWN

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Lycoming College women’s lacrosse team hosted Elizabethtown College, Wednesday afternoon. The Warriors fell behind early and could not catch the Blue Jays who by a score of 20-9. Lycoming falls to 2-5 and 0-3, while Elizabethtown improves to 3-7 and 3-4.

For the Warriors, senior Lauren Evangelist (Perkiomen, Pa./ Boyertown Area) had five goals and one assist. She was complemented by junior Ashley Rowe (Fairfax, Va./ W.T. Woodson) who had two goals. Junior Lisa Pease (Chester, Md./ Central Bucks East) and freshman Cassie Mocyk (Baldwinsville, N.Y./ Charles W. Baker) each added one goal.

Senior Laurie Rooney (Audubon, N.J./ Audubon) stopped 10 shots in goal for Lycoming.

The Blue Jays were led by Jackie Brenton with five goals and three assists. Liz Fretz followed right behind with three goals and picked up an assist. Kelly O’Connor made six saves in net.

The next match up for the Warriors will be away at Moravian on Friday, April 9^th. The game is set to begin at 1:00p.m.
