WOMEN’S LACROSSE STUNNED BY MESSIAH
WILLIAMSPORT, PA
– The Lycoming College women’s lacrosse team hosted Messiah
College, Tuesday afternoon, for a Middle Atlantic Conference
match-up. The Warriors struggled all game to mount an offensive
attack as the Falcons controlled the game en route to a 16-2
victory. Lycoming falls to 2-3 overall and 2-2 within the
conference. Messiah improves to 5-3 and 3-0.
The Warriors
received goals from Lauren Evangelist (Jr./Perkiomen, PA;
Boyertown) and Ashley Rowe (So./Fairfax, VA; W.T. Woodson)
during the first half.
The Falcons were
led by Kayte Hall with five goals and an assist. Joanna Wilkinson
added three goals and two assists. Regan Downton chipped in two
goals and five assists.
Laurie Rooney
(Jr./Audubon, NJ; Audubon)
made 15 saves in goal for Lycoming. Marissa Thrall and Sarah
Taylor split time in net for Messiah. Thrall made six saves and
allowed two goals in 43 minutes. Taylor made two saves and did not
let up a goal in 17 minutes.
The Warriors will
be at home again on Thursday, April 3, when they host Montclair
State. Game time is at 4 p.m.
