LYCOMING WOMEN’S LACROSSE HAS WINNING STREAK COME TO AN END

WILLIAMSPORT, PA – The Lycoming College women’s lacrosse team hosted Susquehanna University, Tuesday afternoon, for a Middle Atlantic Conference contest. The Warriors had a three game winning steak come to an end, falling to the Crusaders 13-9. The loss drops Lycoming’s record to 5-5 overall and 5-4 within the conference. Susquehanna improves to 6-5 and 4-3.

Lauren Evangelist (Jr./Perkiomen, PA; Boyertown) led the Warriors with three goals and an assist in the game. Sarah Gibbons (Sr./East Hampton, PA; East Hampton) and Karyn Wright (Sr./Schenectady, NY; Schenectady) each added two goals. Ashley Rowe (So./Fairfax, VA; W.T. Woodson) and Erica Likens (So./Bel Air, MD; Bel Air) chipped in a goal and an assist each.

The Crusaders were led by Kelly Smith with four goals and one assist. Melissa Heberlein added three goals and two assists.

Laurie Rooney (Jr./Audubon, NJ; Audubon) made nine saves in goal for Lycoming. Giulia Umile made 12 saves in net for Susquehanna.

The Warriors will complete their season on Friday, when they travel to Drew University.
