LYCOMING COLLEGE NAMES KARA BATES
HEAD WOMEN’S LACROSSE COACH

WILLIAMSPORT, PA – Lycoming College athletics director Frank Girardi has announced the hiring of Kara Bates as the head coach of the women’s lacrosse program. Bates becomes the fourth coach in the eight-year history of the program.

Bates comes to Lycoming after coaching soccer, basketball, and lacrosse at Newark High School in New York. A 1999 graduate of Bowling Green State University, Bates played both soccer and ice hockey while earning a bachelor’s degree in sports management. She went on to attend the State University of New York at Brockport and earned a bachelor’s degree in physical education in May of 2001.

“We’re extremely pleased to have Kara as the next head coach of our women’s lacrosse program,” said Athletics Director Frank Girardi. “We’re confident that Kara will inject a new enthusiasm into our youngest athletic program and continue building a team that will be competitive at both the conference and national level.”
