LYCOMING WOMEN’S LACROSSE DEFEATS MORAVIAN

WILLIAMSPORT, PA – The Lycoming College women’s lacrosse team hosted conference rival Moravian College, Saturday afternoon. The Warriors dominated the action, winning by a score of 12-3. Lycoming improves to 4-4 overall and 4-3 within the conference. The Greyhounds fall to 0-9 and 0-7.

The Warriors scored the first two goals of the contest and opened up a 5-1 advantage by halftime. Lycoming’s attack found even more success in the second half adding seven tallies while limiting Moravian to just two additional scores.

Erica Likens (So./Bel Air, MD; Bel Air) led all players with six goals in the contest. Ashley Rowe (So./Fairfax, VA; W.T. Woodson) added two goals and two assists. Sarah Gibbons (Sr./East Hampton, CT; East Hampton) also recorded two goals. Ashley Good (So./Lancaster, PA; Lampeter-Strasburg) and Melissa Wert (Sr./Mifflinburg, PA; Mifflinburg) each chipped in one goal.

Laurie Rooney (Jr./Audubon, NJ; Audubon) made five saves in goal for the Warriors.

Lycoming plays again tomorrow morning when they travel to Wilkes University for a 10 a.m. faceoff.
