WOMEN’S LACROSSE LOSES HEARTBREAKER

MONTCLAIR, NJ – The Lycoming College women’s lacrosse team
traveled to Montclair State University, Tuesday afternoon, for a
non-conference contest. The Warriors came back from a five-goal,
second-half deficit to tie the game at 13-13, but the Red Hawks
scored with just 23 seconds remaining to steal the 14-13 victory.
Lycoming falls to 4-5 overall with the loss. Montclair State
improves to 2-3.
Erica
Likens (Fr./Bel Air, MD; Bel Air)
led the Warriors with five goals and two assists in the game. Ashley
Rowe (Fr./Fairfax, VA; W.T. Woodson) added three goals while
also recording a pair of assists. Karyn Wright
(Jr./Schenectady, NY; Schenectady) scored twice for Lycoming,
and Sarah Gibbons (Jr./East Hampton, CT; East Hampton), Beth
Weixel (Fr./Mill Hall, PA; Central Mountain), and Natasha
Simchak (So./Nesquehoning, PA; Panther Valley) each scored
once. Gibbons also assisted on a goal.
Colleen
Clarke (Fr./Folsom, PA; Cardinal O’Hara)
made 13 saves in goal for the Warriors.
Lycoming
will be at home for their next game when they host Widener
University on Saturday, April 6, at 2 p.m.
