WOMEN’S LAX DOMINATES WHITTIER
WHITTIER, CA –
The Lycoming College women’s lacrosse team won their second
consecutive game to open the season, with a 17-5 victory over
Whittier College Thursday evening. The Warriors led 10-2 at the
half and went on to outscore the Poets 7-3 in the second half.
Lycoming is now 2-0 on the year.
Lauren
Evangelist (So./Perkiomen, PA; Boyertown Area)
led the squad with six goals in the contest. Ashley Rowe
(Fr./Fairfax, VA; W.T. Woodson) and Erica Likens (Fr./Bel
Air, MD; Bel Air) also had multiple-goal games. Rowe tallied
four goals and Likens recorded three. Natasha Simchak
(So./Nesquehoning, PA; Panther Valley), Beth Weixel
(Fr./Mill Hall, PA; Central Mountain), Melissa Wert
(Jr./Mifflinburg, PA; Mifflinburg), and Kristina Kleintop
(Fr./Danielsville, PA; Northampton) each added a goal as well.
Colleen Clarke
(Fr./Folsom, PA; Cardinal O’Hara)
made five saves in goal for the Warriors.
Lycoming will
play their home opener on Sunday, March 10, when they host
Nazareth College. The game is scheduled for 2 p.m.
