WOMEN’S LACROSSE SUFFERS ONE-GOAL LOSS
WILLIAMSPORT,
PA - The Lycoming College women's lacrosse team traveled to
Stevens Institute of Technology for their final regular season
game on Saturday. The Warriors played even with their hosts for
more than 59 minutes but the Ducks scored with just nine seconds
remaining to steal a 12-11 victory. Lycoming falls to 7-8 overall
with the loss. Stevens Tech improves to 9-3.
Beth Weixel
(Fr./Mill Hall, PA; Central Mountain)
had a big game for the Warriors, scoring five goals and assisting
on another. Erica Likens (Fr./Bel Air, MD; Bel Air) added
two goals and an assist. Ashley Rowe (Fr./Fairfax, VA; W.T.
Woodson) also tallied a pair of goals.
Colleen
Clarke (Fr./Folsom, PA; Cardinal O'Hara)
made 12 saves in goal for Lycoming.
The Warriors
must now wait for the rest of the conference to complete their
seasons in order to determine the playoff field. Should Lycoming
qualify for the playoffs, the team will play on the road on
Wednesday, May 1.
