LYCOMING
NAMES HILLARY BARRETT HEAD COACH FOR WOMEN’S LACROSSE
WILLIAMSPORT, PA –
Lycoming College has announced the hiring of Hillary Barrett
as the head coach of the women’s lacrosse program. She will also
serve as an assistant coach for the women’s soccer program.
“We’re
extremely happy to have Hillary as our new women’s lacrosse
coach,” said Athletics Director Frank Girardi. “Hillary helped
build the program as a player from its second season in existence
to her senior year when they finished 11-5. I’m confident that
her leadership as a player will carry over as she begins her
coaching career and that she will continue to move the women’s
lacrosse program in a positive direction.”
Barrett is a 2001
graduate of the College where she was a member of the women’s
lacrosse team each of her four years. Barrett served as one of the
team’s co-captains during her junior and senior seasons. The
Warriors were a combined 19-12 under her leadership. She still
ranks as one of Lycoming’s all-time most productive attackers,
ranking second in career goals, assists, and points for the
Warriors.
“I’m very
excited to return to Lycoming and the women’s lacrosse
program,” said Barrett. “It’s a great situation in which to
begin my coaching career and I look forward to the challenge of
continuing to build what is still a very young program.”
A graduate of
Perkiomen Valley High School in Collegeville, Pennsylvania,
Barrett now resides in Montoursville.
