WOMEN’S LACROSSE DETHRONES KING’S
WILLIAMSPORT, PA
- The Lycoming College women's lacrosse team hosted King's
College, Saturday afternoon, in a Middle Atlantic Conference
showdown. The Warriors jumped out to a 7-1 halftime lead and never
looked back en route to a 13-3 victory. The win improves
Lycoming's record to 6-7 overall and 3-4 within the conference.
The Monarchs fall to 1-7 and 0-6.
Sarah Gibbons
(Jr./East Hampton, CT; East Hampton)
led the Warriors with three goals and an assist in the game. Beth
Weixel (Fr./Mill Hall, PA; Central Mountain) also recorded a
hat-trick with three goals of her own. Erica Likens (Fr./Bel
Air, MD; Bel Air) added two goals and one assist while Ashley
Rowe (Fr./Fairfax, VA; W.T. Woodson) chipped in one goal and
one assist. Lauren Evangelist (So./Perkiomen, PA: Boyertown)
tallied two assists and led the squad with eight groundballs.
King's was led by
Lisa Sangirardi (Sr./Bethpage, NY; Bethpage) with two goals and
Stacy Player (Jr./Lynbrook, NY; Sacred Heart Acad.) with one goal.
Colleen Clarke
(Fr./Folsom, PA; Cardinal O'Hara)
made 12 saves in goal for the Warriors. Meghan Andes
(Fr./Hazelton, PA; Hazelton) was in goal for the Monarchs and made
23 saves.
Lycoming will
travel to Elizabethtown College on Wednesday, April 17, for their
next contest.
