WOMEN’S LACROSSE SUFFERS CONFERENCE LOSS AT SUSQUEHANNA
WILLIAMSPORT, PA
– The Lycoming College women’s lacrosse team traveled to
Susquehanna University, Thursday afternoon, for an important
conference contest as the season draws to a close. The Warriors
fell behind early and never fully recovered eventually falling
16-7 to the Crusaders. Lycoming dropped to 5-7 overall and 2-4
within the conference with the loss. Susquehanna improved to 8-2
and 5-0.
The Crusaders
raced out to a 5-0 advantage before the Warriors responded with
three goals of their own to close with two, but that would be as
close as Lycoming would get. Susquehanna led 6-3 at the half and
outscored the Warriors 10-4 in the second period.
Lauren
Evangelist (So./Perkiomen, PA; Boyertown),
Beth Weixel (Fr./Mill Hall, PA; Central Mountain), and Sarah
Gibbons (Jr./East Hampton, CT; East Hampton) each scored two
goals for Lycoming. Erica Likens (Fr./Bel Air, MD; Bel Air)
added the other goal while also recording one assist. Kristina
Kleintop (Fr./Danielsville, PA; Northampton) assisted on a
goal as well.
Colleen Clarke
(Fr./Folsom, PA; Cardinal O’Hara)
made 16 saves in goal for the Warriors.
Lycoming returns
home for their next contest when they host King’s College on
