Lycoming Topples FDU-Florham
Zerbee Hits Three Threes, Scores 12

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa.—The Lady Warriors (6-13) defeated Freedom Conference foe FDU-Florham (7-11) on Saturday, 63-53. It was the first conference win for head coach Chris Ditzler’s team.

Dressed in pink t-shirts for the pre-game shoot-around, Lycoming promoted cancer awareness in conjunction with the Women’s Basketball Coaches’ Association. Free shirts were thrown to the crowd and pledges were taken for every home three-pointer. For the game, the Lady Warriors hit seven from downtown.

Jessica Zerbee (Duncansville, PA) hit all three of her three-pointers in the first period to help Lycoming to a 34-33 halftime lead. Zerbee finished the day with 12 points, four rebounds and four assists. Sophomore Andrea Cooper (Hollidaysburg, PA) scored seven of her 11 points in the first half, contributing six rebounds.

Freshman Becky Leid (Denver, PA) grabbed nine second-half boards, on her way to a team-high 10 for the game. FDU-Florham notched the first two points of the second period, but never again took the lead, tying Lycoming only once at the 14:41 mark.

Alicia Engler (Williamsport, PA) recorded 11 total points, including a pair of three-pointers for the game. FDU’s Emily Cerankowski had 20 points on the day, while Maureen Kehoe scored 15.

The Lady Warriors host conference foe Wilkes on Wednesday, January 31 at 6:00 p.m. A men’s game will follow the action.
