Named Freedom Rookie of the Year WILLIAMSPORT, Pa.—Lycoming College freshman forward Rebecca Leid (Denver, PA) was named the Freedom Conference women's basketball Rookie of the Year for her efforts on the court in 2007. The Cocalico High School graduate averaged 9.2 points per game and team-high 5.7 rebounds per game for the Lady Warriors (8-17). Leid started in all 25 of Lycoming’s’ games, averaging more time on the court (24.1 minutes per game) than all but one of her teammates. Sophomore Andrea Cooper (Hollidaysburg, PA) led the Lady Warriors in points (11.4) and minutes (29.2). Leid’s season was highlighted by a double-double against the College Misericordia on November 21. For the game, she posted21 points and 10 rebounds. Leid also led the Lady Warriors with 20 points in a losing effort against Drew University on December 2. For the season, she led Lycoming in scoring in seven games and rebounds in 11. |
