Lady Warriors Fall at FDU-Florham
Leid Notches Double-Double in Loss

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa.—Lycoming’s women’s basketball team traveled to Florham, New Jersey on Saturday afternoon. Although the Lady Warriors fell to FDU-Florham 62-50, Rebecca Leid (Denver, PA) emerged as the inside force for which Lycoming has searched.

In fairness, Leid has been a Lady Warrior standout all season, but on this day, the freshman grabbed a season-high 16 rebounds to go with her team-high 11 points. Junior Michelle Wisla (Schwenksville, PA) also notched a personal-high with 11 points to share the team lead.

Leid dominated the defensive glass, taking 10 boards at FDU’s end, while Wisla had an impressive five steals. Still the outstanding performances were not enough to eclipse a 1 for 19 effort from behind the arc by the Lady Warriors. Lycoming’s Jamie Buriak (Frackville, PA) was productive in reserve with four rebounds and two blocks.

The Lady Warriors will face FDU-Florham again on January 27 at Lamade Gymnasium. In the meantime, Lycoming travels to Lincoln on Monday, January 15 for a tough match-up.
