Lady Warriors Fall to Buffalo State
Lycoming To Face Penn College In Consolation Game

ELMIRA, NY—The Lady Warriors traveled to Elmira for a holiday tournament on Friday. Lycoming lost to Buffalo State 57-53 in the first round and will now face crosstown rival Penn College on Saturday.

Lycoming was ahead of Buffalo State 30-19 at halftime, but the Lady Warriors let the Bengals back in in the second period. Rebecca Leid (Denver, PA) led Lycoming with 15 points. Her five rebounds were second to Jessica Zerbee (Duncansville, PA) and Andrea Cooper (Hollidaysburg, PA), each of whom had six boards. Zerbee also contributed 12 points and six assists, while Cooper added 11 points.

Lycoming benefited from the Bengals’ 21.2% field goal shooting in the first half to garner an 11-point lead. However, the Lady Warriors somehow caught the “miss bug” at halftime, as their shooting fell significantly to 24.3% in the final period.

The marginal bright side for hometown fans is that a crosstown match-up now arises in the consolation game. Lycoming will face fellow Williamsport school, Penn College, on Saturday afternoon. The Lady Wildcats were not on Lycoming’s regular schedule, but, by chance, bragging rights will still be decided.
