LADY WARRIORS DROP FIRST GAME OF BLUE JAY CLASSIC

  ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – The Lycoming College women’s basketball team faced Messiah College in the first night of action at the Blue Jay Classic at Elizabethtown College. The Lady Warriors fell behind early, spotting the Falcons a 38-18 halftime lead. Lycoming played a tighter second half but could not close the gap eventually falling 82-53.

Lyndy LeVan (So./South Williamsport; South Williamsport) led all scorers with 19 points in the game. She also pulled down eight rebounds to lead all players. Katie Santo (Jr./Scotch Plains, NJ; Union Catholic) and Jenalynn Boos (Sr./Roseto, PA; Pius X) each added six markers to the effort.

The loss dropped the Lady Warriors to 4-5 on the season, while Messiah improved to 7-2 overall. Lycoming will face another tough test tomorrow afternoon when they face host Elizabethtown at 3 p.m. The Blue Jays defeated Bethany College on Friday night, 73-59, improving their record to 5-2.
