LEVAN NAMED
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
WILLIAMSPORT,
Pa. – Lycoming College sophomore Lyndy LeVan (South
Williamsport; South Williamsport) has been named Player of the
Week for women’s basketball by the MAC Freedom Conference.
LeVan
led Lycoming to a pair of major victories last week versus the
nationally ranked University of Scranton and 13-7 Susquehanna
University. In the Lady Warriors' 64-54 victory over Scranton,
LeVan led all players with 22 points and 13 rebounds. She also
recorded three steals on the night. Against Susquehanna, LeVan was
again the game's leading scorer with 19 points, while pulling down
12 rebounds and registering three assists. For the week, LeVan
averaged 20.5 points and 12.5 rebounds per game, while shooting
59.3 % from the field.
In
addition to her performance last week, LeVan had been a standout
all season long. The offensive leader of the Lady Warriors, her
18.9 points-per-game leads the Freedom Conference and ranks 36th
in the nation. She is also among the top ten players in the
conference in field goal percentage, free throw percentage,
rebounding, and assists.
As
a team Lycoming is 9-10 overall and 4-6 within the Freedom
Conference. The Lady Warriors will host conference rival Wilkes
University Tuesday night at 6 p.m. in Lamade Gymnasium.
