LYCOMING WOMEN DEFEAT JUNIATA ON THE HARDWOOD

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Lycoming College women’s basketball team evened their season record at 4-4, Wednesday evening, with an 80-70 victory over Juniata College. The Lady Warriors’ defeat of the Eagles snapped a three-game losing skid.

Lycoming used 16 offensive rebounds in the first half to overcome a slow start shooting the ball and carried a 31-26 lead into halftime. The Lady Warriors then made that lead hold up during the second half by connecting on 25-of-30 free throws.

Lyndy LeVan (So./South Williamsport; South Williamsport) led Lycoming in scoring with 21 points – 17 coming in the second half. Jenalynn Boos (Sr./Roseto; Pius X) also had a strong night for the Lady Warriors, scoring 20 points and leading the team with 12 rebounds. Boos was a perfect 10-for-10 from the charity stripe. Katie Santo (Jr./Scotch Plains, NJ; Union Catholic) contributed 11 points to the effort.

Lycoming is action again this weekend as they will compete in a round-robin tournament at Elizabethtown College. The Lady Warriors will play Messiah College on Friday evening and the host institution on Saturday afternoon.
