LYCOMING COLLEGE
ANNOUNCES SCHEDULE FOR 2001 GIRLS’ BASKETBALL CAMPS
WILLIAMSPORT,
Pa. – Lycoming College head women’s basketball coach Christen Ditzler will host two basketball camps for girls this
summer. The first will be a junior high individual camp running
June 17-20. The second will be a team camp running July 15-18.
The
junior high camp is open to all girls entering grades 3-9. The
goal of the staff at the camp is to teach individual fundamentals
and incorporate these techniques into a team concept. A daily
system of teaching stations will stress basics through advanced
skills within the individual player’s level of ability. Players
will be grouped according to age and ability. Emphasis will be
directed to teaching one-on-one and three-on-three skills, leading
into five-on-five play.
The
team camp is open to any varsity or junior varsity high school
team. The camp will feature competition between highly successful
teams and instruction from knowledgeable, experienced coaches. All
teams will have the opportunity to play a full slate of games
during the week.
The
camp will be under the direction of Joe Bressi, District Athletics
Director for Central Dauphin School District, and Christen Ditzler,
head coach of the women’s basketball program at Lycoming
College. Also on the staff are Lycoming assistants, Robyn Flaherty
and Kathy Loy. For more information on the camp, contact Christen
