LADY WARRIORS
COME UP SHORT AGAINST BULLDOGS
WILLIAMSPORT,
Pa. – The Lycoming College women’s basketball team hosted
DeSales University (formerly Allentown) in the opening game of a
MAC Freedom Conference doubleheader. The Lady Warriors could not
generate enough offense to catch the Bulldogs, who went on to win
53-48.
Lycoming
shot just 27% from the field in the first half, but rebounding and
steals kept them within four of DeSales. However, the shooting did
not improve for the Lady Warriors in the second half as they
converted just 4-of-16 shots from the floor.
Adrienne
Wydra (Sr./Ashland; North Schuylkill)
was the game’s leading scorer with 14 points and leading
rebounder with 12 boards. She also tallied four steals and a pair
of assists. Lyndy LeVan (So./South Williamsport; South
Williamsport) added 13 points and six rebounds. Katie Santo
(Jr./Scotch Plains, NJ; Union Catholic) chipped in 11 points
on the strength of three three-point field goals.
The
loss dropped Lycoming’s record to 7-10 overall and 3-6 within
the Freedom Conference. DeSales improves to 14-3 and 7-2. The Lady
Warriors are home again for their next game, hosting nationally
ranked University of Scranton, Wednesday evening at 6 p.m.
