WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Lycoming College women’s basketball team traveled to King’s College, Wednesday evening, to open a Freedom Conference doubleheader. The Lady Warriors fell behind early and never recovered, losing to the Monarchs 63-39.

It took Lycoming nearly six minutes to record their first points of the contest, as King’s opened the game with a 12-2 run. The Lady Warriors never recovered, scoring just 14 points in the first half and eventually falling 63-39.

Lyndy LeVan (So./South Williamsport; South Williamsport) led Lycoming with 15 points and four rebounds. Senior Adrienne Wydra (Ashland; North Schuylkill) added four points and five assists.

Tiffini Varrasse and Denise Igo each had 15 points to lead the Monarchs.

Lycoming drops to 7-9 overall and 3-5 within the MAC Freedom Conference. King’s improves to 11-5 and 6-2. The Lady Warriors will look to rebound from their recent skid on Saturday when they host DeSales University (formerly Allentown) at Lamade Gymnasium. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
