WARRIORS DROP NON-CONFERENCE GAME AT PENN STATE-ALTOONA
ALTOONA, Pa.
The Lycoming College women’s basketball team took a break from
MAC Freedom Conference competition Monday night to travel to
Penn State-Altoona. The Lady Warriors shot 51% from the field
but turned the ball over 22 times and fell to the Lady Cougars
77-73.
Lycoming
out-shot and out-rebounded and their opponent but the difference
in the game came at the free-throw line, where Penn
State-Altoona had 16 more opportunities than the Lady Warriors
and capitalized on every one of them. Lycoming made 12-of-20
free throws, while the Lady Cougars sunk 28-of-36 during the
four-point victory.
Lyndy LeVan
(So./South Williamsport; South Williamsport)
led the Lady Warriors offensively with 22 points. She also had
seven rebounds and three assists. Freshman Emily DeMarco
(Voorhees, NJ; Eastern) chipped in 14 points, including a pair
of three-pointers, and five rebounds. Jenalynn Boos (Sr./Roseto;
Pius X) scored 13 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Laurie
Scherer (Jr./Mahanoy City; Mahanoy) led the team with eight
rebounds, while scoring 10 points and blocking two shots.
The
loss drops Lycoming to 7-8 overall on the season. The Lady
Warriors will look to rebound on Wednesday night when they travel
to King’s College and return to conference action.
