WOMEN FALL TO
DELAWARE VALLEY
DOYLESTOWN, Pa.
– The Lycoming College women’s basketball team traveled to
Delaware Valley College, Saturday afternoon, with all their
playoffs hopes on the line. The Lady Warriors led at the halfway
point but could not close the game out, falling 89-77 to the
Aggies. The loss drops Lycoming’s conference record to 5-7 and
eliminates them from conference playoff contention.
The
Lady Warriors started the game well, jumping out to an eight-point
lead, five minutes into the contest. Delaware Valley, however,
fought back to within one by halftime. Early in the second period,
the Aggies took the lead from Lycoming and never relinquished it,
slowly extending their advantage throughout the half.
Lyndy
LeVan (So./South Williamsport; South Williamsport) was the team’s leading scorer with 22 points. She also led the squad
with nine rebounds. Freshman Emily DiMarco (Voorhees, NJ;
Eastern) added 15 points, including a trio of three-pointers. Jenalynn
Boos (Sr./Roseto; Pius X) led the team with seven assists,
while scoring 13 points.
The
Lady Warriors now stand at 10-11 overall and 5-7 within the MAC
Freedom Conference. They will take a break from conference action
on Monday when they travel to Cedar Crest College. Lycoming plays
it final home game of the season on Wednesday when they host Drew
University at 6 p.m.
