LYCOMING WOMEN’S BASKETBALL DROPS CONTEST AT SCRANTON

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Lycoming College women’s basketball team traveled to the University of Scranton, Wednesday evening, for a Freedom Conference contest. The Warriors shot just 23% from the field for the game and fell to the Royals, 36-74. Lycoming drops to 5-12 overall and 1-7 within the conference with the loss. Scranton improves to 18-1 and 9-0.

Mindy Culp (Sr./New Columbia, Pa.; Milton) was the Warriors’ leading scorer with nine points to go along with four assists. Colleen Wade (Fr./Hatboro, Pa.; Hatboro-Horsham) added seven points, while Danielle Kern (Jr./Lehman, Pa.; Lake-Lehman) and Amy Herschman (Sr./Northampton, Pa.; Northampton) each tallied six markers. Christi Groller (Fr./Catasauqua, Pa.; Catasauqua) came off the bench to lead Lycoming in rebounding with nine boards.

The Royals were led by Taryn Mellody with 16 points and eight rebounds. Erin Healy added 10 points.

The Warriors will return home for their next game on Saturday, February 5, when they host Delaware Valley College at 1 p.m. in Lamade Gymnasium.
